The Spanish colonial style of the hotel shows off excellent tile work that adds tremendous character. My Beautiful Queen Suite had both ceiling fan and air conditioning, and I woke up to chirping birds every morning.
The hotel is about a 15-minute walk to Central Park, which can feel lengthy if you're craving immediate access to shops and restaurants. Wi-Fi was down for three days, inconvenient, and there was noticeable noise from neighbors at times, including loud daytime music and nighttime animals.

The property seemed clean and the room was functional and new-fashioned. The staff has always been incredible and welcoming, and the facilities were great. The setting was peaceful, short walk to restaurants, the coast and a private island in the Isletas de Granada. Besides, Aria Resort & Casino was 2 km away from the property.

The hotel's Spanish colonial style and intricate tile work caught my eye immediately. My Beautiful Queen Suite was spacious, equipped with both a ceiling fan and air conditioning. Waking up to the sounds of chirping birds was good. The service stood out. Especially Kevin and Liam. They organized all my tours and even provided an affordable day pass to Isleta El Recedo, a highlight. The breakfast options was so great, with the most expensive choice at just $5. While the pool area was small, it was relaxing, and the complimentary fresh fruit and coffee were great touches. Wifi had some connectivity issues at times, but it wasn't a major setback. I highly recommend La Polvora. It enhanced my Nicaraguan experience.

During my five-night stay, I really enjoyed the beautifully restored colonial house atmosphere. The icy-cold air conditioning in my Deluxe Queen Suite was a great relief given the warm weather, and I had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Each morning, I appreciated the delicious breakfast that fueled my days exploring nearby attractions like the Chocolate Museum and Parque Colon. The walk to town was pleasant and offered a chance to see more of Granada's charm.

The spacious room allowed for good rest, and the good Nicaraguan breakfast was a highlight. I did notice some noise from neighboring properties and the air conditioning in our room was less effective, which impacted our comfort during the night.

The breakfast spread was great, especially the sausages. I loved kicking back by the pool in the charming colonial setting. The staff went the extra mile!
None of these were issues for us, but for posterity, expect a bit of noise from day and night critters. The hotel is a swift 15-minute walk to the main attractions or a quick $2 taxi ride. No biggie.

We enjoyed our stay with the kids. The staff were helpful, even organizing a classic tour that let us see the best of Granada. The lovely pool area was perfect for the children to relax and have fun while we unwound.
My kids wished for quieter surroundings.
